Be an experimental person

A Splash of Inspiration

In the visualization process, for example when creation a Vision Board, creativity is one of the key factors. Creativity in sourcing your dream images, creating powerful affirmations and selecting the most inspiring music for your visualization. Really finding those elements that makes you feel completely excited about your goals and driven to achieve them. It also makes it a lot of fun and creates real satisfaction about your end result.

So how do we increase creativity and stay away from fixed ways of thinking?

In his classic “The magic of thinking big”, David J Schwartz discusses how to think and dream creatively. “Personal enemy number one”, he says, “for the person who is interested in a creative personal success program, is Traditional Thinking. It freezes your mind and blocks your progress”. He describes an interesting way to create more creative power, which I thought would be valuable for you to try. It is:

Be an experimental person

He suggests: “Break up fixed routines. Expose yourself to new restaurants, new books, new theaters, new friends; take a different route to work some day, take a different vacation this year, do something new and different this weekend”

I love this idea, as I think it can be quite easy to slip into a set way of thinking about things and to follow certain routines day in day out without consciously thinking about them. This really shuts down your creativity and minimizes the possibility of improvement. So I think this is a great practice, as it forces you to think outside the square. This will keep you open and inspired for ideas, people and ways of thinking that might be completely different from yours.

So start a totally different hobby, do something new with your family, take a different route driving home from the office or just try something different for lunch. You might just like the change :) !

Have a powerful week!
