a real fun and powerful way to visualize is to clearly SEE yourself living the life your are visualizing, while generating the feelings you will have. You could see yourself doing the things you would do with your new partner, you could envision spending the extra spare time you are wanting to create or you could see yourself donating to your favorite charity. Take some time for this, sit down and really FEEL your future life. The more vivid your visualization is, the better the result.

One thing I personally find particularly fun and exciting to visualize is a new home. If it is your goal to live in a new home, think for yourself what it will look like, how you will feel waking up in your home and where you will have your breakfast. Envision the view you will have and the fun you will have living in it.

Dorian R Toussaint shared with me how he visualized and eventually attracted his dream home, with the intention of inspiring you too:

“About 15 years ago I had this idea of my dream home, about 450 square
meters of house – 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, a study, sunken lounge,
TV room, dining room, bar, kitchen with granite tops, scullery,
workshop, double garage, under floor heating, fire place, a patio with
built in braai, a swimming pool and space, plenty of it! I wanted a
large piece of land, 1Ha (10 000 square meters of land) and… it must
have a view.

And then one day we, my wife and I were ready, I had walked through this
home in my head many, many times and now the time was right. We started
to look for land, I wanted to build but we looked at all options and
this took about 12 months until one day we were called to come and view
a piece of land in an area we were not familiar with. We arrived, it
was large, sloping South, about 250m long and 80m wide, long African
bush veld, big trees, birds and a magnificent 180 degree view looking
out for ever way into the distance – the stand size, 10 050 square
meters. We bought it a week later.

We now started working on the home, gave our architect a brief and apart
from him making the bedroom areas more practical he just about designed
the living area as I had imagined it – we didn’t have to change any of
the design, the land, the house, the view, our sanctuary. We have lived in the house just short of 5 years now”

Thank you Dorian for sharing this inspiring example with us!

Do you have an example like Dorian too of consciously visualizing something -big or small- and attracting it into your life as a consequence? Please let me know, I love to share your stories and could use some more!

In the visualization process, for example when creation a Vision Board, creativity is one of the key factors. Creativity in sourcing your dream images, creating powerful affirmations and selecting the most inspiring music for your visualization. Really finding those elements that makes you feel completely excited about your goals and driven to achieve them. It also makes it a lot of fun and creates real satisfaction about your end result.

So how do we increase creativity and stay away from fixed ways of thinking?

In his classic “The magic of thinking big”, David J Schwartz discusses how to think and dream creatively. “Personal enemy number one”, he says, “for the person who is interested in a creative personal success program, is Traditional Thinking. It freezes your mind and blocks your progress”. He describes an interesting way to create more creative power, which I thought would be valuable for you to try. It is:

Be an experimental person

He suggests: “Break up fixed routines. Expose yourself to new restaurants, new books, new theaters, new friends; take a different route to work some day, take a different vacation this year, do something new and different this weekend”

I love this idea, as I think it can be quite easy to slip into a set way of thinking about things and to follow certain routines day in day out without consciously thinking about them. This really shuts down your creativity and minimizes the possibility of improvement. So I think this is a great practice, as it forces you to think outside the square. This will keep you open and inspired for ideas, people and ways of thinking that might be completely different from yours.

So start a totally different hobby, do something new with your family, take a different route driving home from the office or just try something different for lunch. You might just like the change !

Have a powerful week!

I came across the following meditation from Louise Hay in her book “Mediations to heal your life” that I thought was really profound, so I wanted to share it with you. To me, it reflects the idea that all things happen for a reason and that we are all on our own unique journey towards our prosperity and happiness.

I especially resonated with the sentence “I can open myself to this divine power and receive what I need, whenever I choose”. It reconfirms that it is important to choose and then let the Universe know our choices by “sending them out”, something our Vision Board software helps you to do on a daily basis!

Here is the meditation:

Divine Guidance

“I really know that there is a power far greater than myself that flows through me every moment of every day, and I can open myself to this power and receive what I need, whenever I choose. This is true of everyone. We all are learning that it is safe to look within. It is safe to enlarge our viewpoint of life. If things aren’t going the way we expected in some area, it doesn’t mean we are bad or wrong. It is a signal that we are being redirected by Divine Guidance. When this happens, find a quiet place where you can relax and connect with the intelligence within you. Affirm that the supply of wisdom is inexhaustible and available to you, and that whatever you need to know is revealed to you in the perfect time/space sequence.”

Have a powerful week!

When you visualize your goals and dreams, do you genuine feel like you deserve to achieve them? Our beliefs about ourselves and about what we are worthy of play a big role in whether or not we actually can attract the dreams we visualize. You see, you might actively visualize yourself as a wealthy person, or with a fantastic partner. But if you subconsciously think “but why would I deserve to have this?”, “I am not worthy of having this”, or “I am not good enough to be wealthy” then that is the feeling you will be vibrating into the universe…. which will block or at least slow down the attraction process!

So if you feel like you have this kind of programming going on in your subconscious, try to figure out what the belief is. Then see if you can formulate an empowering affirmation that reprograms that belief such as “I deserve to be in a loving, caring relationship”. or “I am a winner and deserve to be successful”.

I thought I’d share the following affirmation I created after reading Dr. John Demartini’s book “The breakthrough experience “. When I read it, it really resonated with me:

“No matter what I have done, or have not done, I am worthy of fulfilling my dreams and attracting huge abundance into my life. I deserve to be healthy and wealthy”

You see, I always have the feeling I have to do a lot of hard work to deserve my dreams coming through, so much that it is virtually impossible to achieve them…so when I don’t do as much as I expected to do on a day (which happens on a regular basis, especially on the days I look after my 1 1/2 year old son …) , I feel like I don’t deserve to be abundantly wealthy and extremely successful. So by stating this affirmation, I am in the process of reprogramming that belief and replacing it with an empowering one!

Have a powerful week!

If you have been receiving this weekly inspirational email for a while, chances are you have an inspiring Vision Board everywhere in your house, reminding you of your goals and dreams .
But how about the rest of your family? Does your partner have a Vision Board? And if you have children; have you created a Vision Board with them as well? Focusing consistently on your own goals and dreams is just the beginning. The next step is to expand the energy around you by supporting your family in the process of visualization as well.

How powerful do you think it is when you and your partner are both clear on each others goals and dreams and especially on your mutual goals and dreams? Referring back to my example of last week: my husband and I share the same vision of our dream house and we both have an image of it prominently on our Vision Boards. Imagine how powerful our energy will be in attracting it into our reality!
On the contrary, what if I would visualize a beach house and he would focus on a house in the country….? Knowing each others goals also makes it possible to support and empower each other in the process of achieving those goals.

What about your children, do you know their goals and dreams? My son Oliver isn’t old enough yet to do this exercise, but I already look forward to the day that I can create a Vision Board with him. Children have the most amazing imagination and have no boundaries as yet as to what they can and cannot achieve. The have big dreams; they want to become an astronaut, Prime Minister, Superman… It is so precious to keep these dreams alive by teaching them early on about the power of visualization! So….

How about creating a Vision Board with your family?

Sit down with your partner, children, grand children, nieces, nephews… who ever is close to you and open to applying The Law of Attraction in their life. First talk about goals and dreams and share with each other what you would like to create in your life. Then -as a group- go and search for images, affirmations etc to include on your Vision Board. What an amazing way to spend real quality time with your family and help them achieve their goals. How powerful to learn more about what inspires and empowers the people closest to you!

TIP: Our Vision Board software allows for an unlimited number of personal Vision Boards to be created, so the whole family can have their own Vision Board displayed when they are working on the computer. In this day and age, this may be THE way to introduce your children to the power of visualization in an exciting and “modern” way

Happy visualizing for the WHOLE family!

Have a powerful week!

Another great week lies ahead of you in this all new year, full of potential!

For this week, I am challenging you to repeat a practice you might remember from last year, as a way to keep yourself inspired and positive in 2008…

Create a cheerleader on your shoulder!

Remember that one? Did you actually create a happy cheerleader and is she still there?? Especially in times of challenge, it is easy to let negativity take over, however as you probably know: this only creates more negativity. So it is really helpful if you are aware of your self talk and focus on keeping it positive.

You might have noticed that you have an internal conversation going on in your head almost all the time. A little voice that is chatting along in your head. You know, the one that right now says “what little voice…:) ?”. It is constantly making judgements, comments and remarks about yourself, others and situations. Often this internal conversation is negative of nature, doubting yourself and opportunities. Do you realize this voice has a lot of power over you and your life? So my advice is to..

Make a conscious effort to keep your internal dialogue
as positive as possible

It is worth spending some time on this. You see, the more positive your internal conversation, the more positive your feelings and thoughts. Positive thoughts and feelings attract more positive things to you, by virtue of the Law of Attraction!

So this week, pay attention to this little voice and make a conscious effort to keep the conversation as positive as possible. have some fun with this: imagine having an inspiring cheerleader on your left shoulder, saying positive, uplifting things that empower you and put everything and everybody in a positive light. On your other shoulder is a grumpy little gnome trying to keep you and others “small” by nagging about negative things. Try to notice who is speaking and hand over the microphone if necessary ….

My suggestion? Nurture the happy cheerleader, ignore the grumpy one!

Have a powerful week!

Happy New year! I hope you have had a very special time with your family and loved ones over the past few weeks.

The beginning of yet another amazing year, full of potential! This time of the year is traditionally a time of setting goals for the year to come. But before you get stuck in this very important process, also see it as an important time for some reflection. Reflection on the year 2007 and what valuable things you made happen. You see, sometimes we beat ourselves up about not having achieved certain goals and certain things and seem to get so stuck in what we still want/need to achieve, that we forget about all the amazing things we did manage to create in our lives and the lives of others.

I looked at this myself the other day and reflected on my life and made a mental list of what I have created in 2007. I realized there were so many things I made happen en developed for myself and others! With some things I couldn’t even believe it was only one year ago certain things were in a certain way. It seemed so much longer ago. It filled me with a sense of pride and appreciation for myself and excitement for the year to come.

So this week, I suggest to reflect on 2007 and have a good think about this..

What did you create in the different areas of your life that you can be truly proud of and grateful for?

Take some time to make a list, I am sure you will be happily surprised by your efforts. The feeling of pride and gratitude this generates will make you feel excited about yourself and your life. Also, it creates a fantastic basis for your goals setting exercise for this year to come. Acknowledging how much you have been able to do last year and imagine what amazing things could you attract and realize this year?

Have a powerful week!

Christmas is nearly here! Are you excited about that? It is a time of love, fun, appreciation and spending a wonderful time with your family and friends. Unfortunately, for some people this seems to be overshadowed these days by spending a lot of energy on trivial things, really. It can turn into a very stressful time, worrying about finances, buying people expensive gifts, getting things done before the end of the year, arranging table settings, etc. Did you know that Christmas is one of the busiest time for women refugee centers? And that violence in the house reaches a peak during this time of year…?

If you have been receiving this email for a while you know that when you FEEL somewhat negative and stressed and when you have a negative anticipation towards Christmas, guess what…. you will attract exactly the Christmas you are dreading!
If you expect it to be stressful, it will be. If you are afraid you will have a fight with your mother, changes are …you will! Feelings of lack and limitation due to insufficient funds to buy presents will keep you in that state of lack. The law of Attraction always works, also at Christmas time !

The good news is: you can also focus on a positive, truly magical Christmas by visualizing exactly how you would like your Christmas to be! With this Splash of Inspiration I hope to inspire you to visualize and create a really wonderful Christmas, focused on what is truly important: a blissful time of relaxation, appreciation and loving bonding with family and friends. Just think about it: what do you remember from Christmas 10 years ago? Was it the food, the presents, the cutlery….. or the laughter and connection you felt with your family?

So I urge you to have a good think about this..

How do you FEEL about Christmas?

Make sure to create all the positive feelings around this special time of year, and visualize the exact Christmas you dream about. Create affirmations that add power to this visualization. For instance “I am so grateful that we have a peaceful and loving Christmas with the whole family, everyone is getting along and in appreciation of each other”. And most of all, keep in mind what is really important, and don’t sweat the small stuff!

Have a powerful week and a magical Christmas!

In our daily conversations and in our thoughts we seem to have a habit of focusing on what we don’t want in our lives. Can you see that for yourself? We say “I don’t want to work overtime”, “I don’t want my trip to be expensive” or “I don’t want my children to moan about [...]

In our daily conversations and in our thoughts we seem to have a habit of focusing on what we don’t want in our lives. Can you see that for yourself? We say “I don’t want to work overtime”, “I don’t want my trip to be expensive” or “I don’t want my children to moan about doing the dishes”.

The challenge when we focus on what we don’t want, is that we attract what we focus on and give our attention to. It is important to know in this respect, that our brain doesn’t register the “don’t” in the sentence. So if you say “I don’t want it to be expensive” your brain registers “expensive”…! I learned this from Michael Losier and from the Law of Attraction Center. Some funny examples for this: try saying to your dog “you are not getting a treat”…. Or: “we are not going to the park”…. Same goes for human beings. Say to your small child “You are not getting an ice cream…”. It will start smiling straight away as it expects to get an ice cream! So focusing on what you don’t want gives you exactly that what you don’t want!

So instead of focusing on what you DON’T want, the suggestion is to focus on what you DO want. So every time you catch yourself saying “don’t want” or “don’t like”, replace it with the following:

“So what DO I want?”

For instance if you say “I don’t want my trip to be expensive” replace it with “I want my trip to be affordable”. This also goes for instructions you give. Telling your children “Don’t run in the house” makes them run even more ! Now that I am fully aware of this, I am amazed how many instructions you read are focused on what you can’t do. For instance “Don’t use this door” or “Don’t eat inside”. A more effective would be to say “Use the other door” or “Eat outside”. Tell your children “Walk slowly in the house” or “Keep your voice down, please”. This way, you focus on what you Do want, and you will attract it into your reality!

Have a powerful week!

I received a great email from Betsy Taylor last week stating “Linda, I have begun using short affirmations for my login/user and passwords. This keeps everything fresh in my mind and right in front of me because I can’t forget or misplace them!!”

I was intrigued. I thought this was such a great idea and asked Betsy if I could share this idea with you in my next Splash of Inspiration! Betsy managed to combine the power of having your personal affirmations all around you with the challenge of remembering login details and pass words . Very innovative indeed.

She also gave me some examples I would like to share with you, as they might inspire you too:

my1stmillion

moneylovesme

healthismine2007

fitisme or iamfit

ideservehappiness

myheartsmiles

Pretty inspiring, right? This made me think about it myself a bit more, too! How about “iamabundant” for your bank account pass word? Or “energyismine” for your gym code. You could use something like “iamefficient” or “iamachampion” for your computer password! Working with your affirmations in a pro active an fun way like this reinforces your beliefs and helps to attract your dreams into your reality. So whenever you start up your computer and login, you are a champion already!

Thanks Betsy for sharing this with all of us!

Have a powerful week!
