A positive internal dialogue

A Splash of Inspiration

Another great week lies ahead of you in this all new year, full of potential!

For this week, I am challenging you to repeat a practice you might remember from last year, as a way to keep yourself inspired and positive in 2008…

Create a cheerleader on your shoulder!

Remember that one? Did you actually create a happy cheerleader and is she still there?? Especially in times of challenge, it is easy to let negativity take over, however as you probably know: this only creates more negativity. So it is really helpful if you are aware of your self talk and focus on keeping it positive.

You might have noticed that you have an internal conversation going on in your head almost all the time. A little voice that is chatting along in your head. You know, the one that right now says “what little voice…:) ?”. It is constantly making judgements, comments and remarks about yourself, others and situations. Often this internal conversation is negative of nature, doubting yourself and opportunities. Do you realize this voice has a lot of power over you and your life? So my advice is to..

Make a conscious effort to keep your internal dialogue
as positive as possible

It is worth spending some time on this. You see, the more positive your internal conversation, the more positive your feelings and thoughts. Positive thoughts and feelings attract more positive things to you, by virtue of the Law of Attraction!

So this week, pay attention to this little voice and make a conscious effort to keep the conversation as positive as possible. have some fun with this: imagine having an inspiring cheerleader on your left shoulder, saying positive, uplifting things that empower you and put everything and everybody in a positive light. On your other shoulder is a grumpy little gnome trying to keep you and others “small” by nagging about negative things. Try to notice who is speaking and hand over the microphone if necessary :) ….

My suggestion? Nurture the happy cheerleader, ignore the grumpy one!

Have a powerful week!

How to apply the Law of Attraction to become a millionaire

January 10, 2008 12:14 am

Since The secret came out so many more people are now “wakened” to the idea of being able to direct their destiny! I have come across a lot of people wanting to apply the Law of Attraction, particularly to attract more wealth and fortune into their lives. It is probably one of the most important areas for which people truly see a change to transform their reality. At the same time I have read numerous books and articles devoting at least one chapter to this topic.

In this article I thought I’d share some of the techniques I came across and techniques I use myself.

The first recommended technique is to really see yourself as a millionaire and feel yourself already being a millionaire. Focus on wearing clothes that make you feel prosperous and doing the things a millionaire does, such as looking at amazing houses and going out for lunch. Really focus on wealth and abundance instead of on lack or limitations, not having enough etc as that is what you will keep getting otherwise. If you think you “need” money, that is exactly what you will be attracting to your life: more “needing”! If you feel broke, guess what… you will attract more “broke-ness” to your reality.

On the other hand, if you focus on an abundance of money flowing into your life and you really feel this abundance in every fiber of your body, you will create “money attracting vibes”! The interesting thing is, that the more you focus on abundance in your life, the more the “standard” in your mind shifts towards having money. Combined with the right action you will eventually attract that wealth into your reality. Your ideas and feelings shift from “I don’t have money” to “I am receiving more and more money” to eventually actually having it.

Another technique is to visualize your actual fortune. If your goal is to become a millionaire, then write out a a check made out to you for 1 million dollars and hang it somewhere in your house where you will see it often. Better still, make copies and hang them all around your house! Visualize a stream of money flowing into your life, like a river. Or visualize your bank account with a million dollars in it. You could even print out a bank statement, white out the amount and replace it with a huge number. See yourself with a full wallet, happily paying diner for a group of friends. Or anything else that you wish you could do if you had the money. Becoming a millionaire is great, but I assume you have this goal because you have some ideas as to how to spend it once earned. So really see yourself already wealthy! What you see in your imagination, is what you will eventually see for real with your eyes! This method is called “vivid visualization” and is extremely powerful. By practicing it, you will find that your self-image begins to conform to these new images in your mind. You are literally growing into the new successful person you intent to become. Another very valuable tool to visualize your life, is by creating a Vision Board. Create a collage of images and affirmations visualizing your life as a millionaire. Very powerful is to use Vision Board software, as it keeps you accountable and creates a high exposure to your Vision.

A key factor here is to stop worrying about HOW it will come to you. The universe will take care of that, you just need to believe and focus on positive feelings and vibrations. This will attract the events, circumstances and people into your life to make your goal a reality. Look at your million dollar check and feel the feelings of having that money right now. How would you spend it? How would it feel to spend that kind of money?

A final important point to know, is that if you don’t have enough money right now, it means you are blocking the flow of money into your life, with your thoughts. Your wallet speaks very clearly about the vibrations you are sending out into the universe about money at this present moment. So have a really good look at your own beliefs about money. If your beliefs are limiting and scarce, you will need to address this before you can attract your true fortune. You can work on a more positive and abundant belief system by using affirmations. Use affirmations like “I am so happy and excited that I am now attracting a flow of money into my life” or ”I easily attract money like a magnet”.

Combine the vivid visualization technique with empowering affirmations and the action steps you need to further your goals. This creates a powerful process, and gets you on your way to becoming a millionaire!

A gratitude reflection on 2007

A Splash of Inspiration

Happy New year! I hope you have had a very special time with your family and loved ones over the past few weeks.

The beginning of yet another amazing year, full of potential! This time of the year is traditionally a time of setting goals for the year to come. But before you get stuck in this very important process, also see it as an important time for some reflection. Reflection on the year 2007 and what valuable things you made happen. You see, sometimes we beat ourselves up about not having achieved certain goals and certain things and seem to get so stuck in what we still want/need to achieve, that we forget about all the amazing things we did manage to create in our lives and the lives of others.

I looked at this myself the other day and reflected on my life and made a mental list of what I have created in 2007. I realized there were so many things I made happen en developed for myself and others! With some things I couldn’t even believe it was only one year ago certain things were in a certain way. It seemed so much longer ago. It filled me with a sense of pride and appreciation for myself and excitement for the year to come.

So this week, I suggest to reflect on 2007 and have a good think about this..

What did you create in the different areas of your life that you can be truly proud of and grateful for?

Take some time to make a list, I am sure you will be happily surprised by your efforts. The feeling of pride and gratitude this generates will make you feel excited about yourself and your life. Also, it creates a fantastic basis for your goals setting exercise for this year to come. Acknowledging how much you have been able to do last year and imagine what amazing things could you attract and realize this year?

Have a powerful week!
